Now that MMA is here big time in New Mexico what are your thoughts on other promotions coming into town, do you think its good for New Mexico MMA?

I think it is horrible, I might be wrong but I think they are prostituting our fighters, they dont know them, they dont know thier plans for the future, you get guys that wake up one day and want to be fighters and they are on a show, if that show performs badly that affects New Mexico. And the bottom line is New Mexico Money should stay in New Mexico, re invest into the community the money garnered from the LOCAL events. Im not shooting anyone down thats just how I feel. All Local events with Local fighters deserve credit.

What are you looking for as a promoter in a fighter, why would you have them fight on your show?

A fighter needs to be true to the sport, we are looking for dedication and loyality, not a fighter who wants a qucik buck, wants to fight every 3 weeks to make a living. We want fighters that want a future.

What seperates your promotion and shows from the others?

Hard Work, Local, and obviously our alliance with the best gym in the world, Jacksons. These guys put in the hard work, we build relationships, and we are defintely in it for the fighters future, not a quick buck

What do you say to those critics that dont agree with your alliance with Jacksons gym?

1st off what other promotion presented the opportunity to have this alliance would turn it down? We have an alliance with Jacksons because it makes sense, they tell me whos ready to fight and when, they are established and have the fighters best interest in mind, look at what Jacksons has produced. We are in this to assist Jackson in building foundations for the fighters.

What about other gyms with great fighters and talent?

Our alliance is with Jacksons, we have nothing against other gyms, in fact we want to know who the best fighters are in the state, a lot of local guys do not want to fight jackson guys. If a gym has a fighter we will shocase that fighter in our event if the gym allows. There are many great gyms and coaches in town, they know where we stand and we will do our best to pit the best guys against the best guys.

What can NewMexicoFIGHT.com or any other media outlet do to help? What are you looking for out of media or a NewMexicoFIGHT.com?

1st Of all we need a solid website, we believe NewMexicoFIGHT.com is 100% MMA New Mexico. Are You? Thats what I want from media outlets to be dedicated to MMA New Mexico, you have out there in my eyes boxing websites 100% boxing, then you have a mix of both. I think boxing should stick with boxing and MMA stick with MMA. Media outlets should be focused on LOCAL shows and Talent, we shouldn't need to pay for airtime, or newspaper ads, we are local. Why do these out of town promoters throwing fights together last minute get air time , news time, and ad time and the LOCAL shows unless PAID for dont even get mentioned. In my eyes Thats wrong. We should not expolit these great fighters, I think you have guys out there that woke up experts on MMA here in New Mexico, they only cared when it became a MMA Town. When we started our event and promotion years back people laughed at us, told us we would fail, we wouldnt make it, we were there when no one cared now every one is on the scene. I just think it needs to quality fighters and quality local events and promoters should look out for the fighters not the wallet.

How Long have you been involved with promoting?

I have been involved with Promoting for about 4-5 Years

What are your long term goals with your events?

To showcase new fighters, and establish a core group of guys that we can assist in taking to the next level. To go mainstream and keep it there.

What are your thoughts on MMA in New Mexico?

One word CRAZY, Its the mecca of MMA Talent and of course the #1 gym in the world is here along with other great gyms to follow. Although its tough because you have wanna be's who want to make a qucik buck, then you have dedicated fight for life fighters who want to make a future. It is crazy.
